Catching up

Well, I went and got busy again. But it was a good busy. Here are some wonderful things I've done in the past week or so:
  • threw a BBQ in the backyard for ~20 good friends and family
  • hosted my parents for a week-long stay, and enjoyed every minute of it. Except that part where I was sick as a dog due to heat exhaustion. Smooth.
  • finished the penultimate draft of my "meaning in music" paper
  • harvested our first crop of lettuce from the veggie patch
  • harvested our first little strawberry - it was tart due to premature picking, but it tasted like heaven to we who watched it grow
  • visited my brother's soon-to-be first house
  • played hours and hours of Scrabble and Civ 4 with the 'rents
  • kicked Mom's butt in Wii bowling
  • baked several loaves of fresh bread
  • took guilty pleasure in reading Coastal Living and Martha Stewart Living, cover to cover
We took many photos of our garden that I will post as soon as we get them off the camera. The plants are thriving in the good soil and perfect weather; it's exciting to be growing our own food!
