in absentia

So much has been going on lately IRL that I've neglected this blog rather woefully of late. It is not for want of things to say, but for want of time and opportunity to say them. I somehow thought that the end of the semester would bring a glut of free time, and leisure to play even as I got a ton of work done on my thesis, but alas, I have been disappointed in that expectation. The good news is that I *have* had time to be outdoors quite a bit; the bad news is that when I become overwhelmed, it's the blogging that goes to the wall...

I have no culinary updates at the moment, aside from posting a photo of the last batch of granola, but we did break out the grill on our anniversary weekend, and My Illustrious Husband (hereafter, MIH) made some killer burgers to inaugurate the outdoor-cooking season. I made Nan's Thai cucumber salad again (because who doesn't love the combination of fresh cukes, sugar, vinegar, and red pepper flakes?) and we had quite a picnic in the backyard. I've got to say, I love me my green space. Sometimes I miss living in Boston, but I do not miss the cramped quarters. No, not one bit.
